The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State has successfully concluded its state congress, resulting in the emergence of new executive council members.
The congress, which took place in Gusau, the state capital, was conducted through a consensus arrangement.
The process was overseen by national party officials led by the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Hadiza Balarabe, and monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Speaking on the outcome of the exercise, Balarabe confirmed that the process was peaceful and well-organised.
“The consensus congress was conducted peacefully and orderly, leading to the election of Kabiru Moyi as the state APC chairman, Sani Musa as vice chairman, Ibrahim Danmaliki Gidangoga as secretary, Yusuf Idris as auditor, and Ibrahim Birnin Magaji as publicity secretary, among others.”
In his remarks, Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, described the congress as a success and a step forward for the party in the state.
He urged the newly elected executives to focus on strengthening unity within the APC and working towards the party’s progress ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The governor also commended Balarabe and members of the congress committee for their role in ensuring a smooth and successful exercise, while calling on party stakeholders to continue supporting the leadership for sustained growth and cohesion.
