Former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), receiving his membership card on Monday in Kano.
GoNews reported that, Kwankwaso Resigns from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), which he announced a day earlier, signaling a major political shift ahead of the 2027 elections.
Ahead of the move, a high-level ADC delegation arrived in Kano to welcome him. The team included David Mark, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Rotimi Amaechi, Dino Melaye, and John Odigie-Oyegun, among others.
They were received at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport by former Deputy Governor Aminu Gwarzo.
Kwankwaso is also expected to move to the ADC alongside close allies, including Rufa’i Hanga and Hashim Dungurawa.
In his resignation statement, he described the decision as difficult but necessary, citing changes in the political landscape and the need for a new direction.
