‘We Have Moved On’ — ADC Speaks on Obi, Kwankwaso Exit

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has downplayed the exit of former presidential candidates Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso from the party, describing their departure as a temporary setback.

Speaking on Wednesday during an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the party had already moved past the situation.

“Peter Obi and Kwankwaso moving from the ADC was a glitch. We have moved on from it,” he said.

Obi and Kwankwaso recently left the ADC for the Nigerian Democratic Congress, citing internal disagreements and ongoing court cases within the party.

Abdullahi stated that despite the defections, the ADC remained focused on strengthening opposition politics and addressing what he described as declining governance in the country.

“We have stabilised and moved forward because the objective remains the same, stopping the steady deterioration of governance in the country and strengthening multi-party democracy,” he added.

He also noted that efforts to build a broader opposition coalition were still ongoing despite recent political changes.
