APC Says ADC Not a Threat Ahead of Nigeria Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it is not threatened by the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the party as a group driven by personal ambition rather than national interest.

The APC Chairman in Jigawa State, Hon. Ahmad Maikudi, made this known while speaking to journalists after the party’s executive meeting held on Monday in Dutse.

He explained that the meeting was in preparation for the party’s National Convention scheduled for Saturday.

Maikudi stated that he does not see the ADC as a serious political force, but rather as “a coalition of selfish individuals and power mongers” with little commitment to the country’s progress.

According to him, the party may not last long, as internal ambitions could cause it to break apart after its primaries, especially if key figures fail to secure their desired positions.

He further argued that the ADC is largely made up of former presidential and governorship aspirants, many of whom are interested in contesting for the presidency.

He added that prominent figures such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi could leave the party if they fail to secure its presidential ticket.

Despite this, Maikudi expressed confidence that the APC will emerge victorious in the forthcoming elections.

On the upcoming National Convention, he assured that the party in Jigawa State has completed all necessary preparations, adding that all delegates both statutory and elected are ready to participate in the event.
