A prominent figure in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has voiced his frustration after Nafiu Bala failed to attend a scheduled meeting despite hours of anticipation.
Kwankwaso revealed that he waited through the night into the early hours of the morning, hoping Bala would show up. However, the meeting never happened, leaving him disappointed over what he described as a lost chance to offer guidance.
Speaking during an interview with DCL Hausa, he said, “Yesterday, right up until dawn, I was waiting for Nafiu Bala, but he didn’t come. People later told me he would not come. I wasn’t happy about it.”
According to him, the situation denied Bala the benefit of what he called “fatherly counsel,” which he had intended to provide during the meeting.
Kwankwaso also used a cultural expression to caution Bala, stating, “I told him that he shouldn’t turn into the lizard at the mouth of the pot.”
Reflecting on Bala’s age, Kwankwaso pointed out that he still has room for growth and learning. He remarked, “I googled and saw he was born in 1990, he is still young and has a lot to learn.”
The former governor further urged individuals close to Bala to step in and guide him appropriately. He specifically mentioned traditional authorities, including the Emir of Gombe, as key figures who could help steer him in the right direction.
Kwankwaso also cautioned Bala against actions that could negatively impact the ADC, stressing that such involvement would not be beneficial. He warned that such moves “will not help him.”
He added, “Whoever sees him should advise him to remove his hand from bringing problems to the ADC.”
Emphasizing the need for accountability, he concluded, “People close to him must advise him and call him to order.”
