Katsina Market Clash: Two Traders Killed in Danja

A dispute between two traders at a market in Kokami, located in Danja Local Government Area of Katsina State, ended in tragedy, leaving two people dead under violent circumstances.

According to information shared on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama, the incident unfolded around 4:00 p.m. on April 4, 2026. What began as a disagreement quickly escalated into a physical confrontation, ultimately leading to the death of one of the traders involved.

In the aftermath, tensions in the community intensified. Residents, reportedly angered by the situation, turned on the second trader. He was attacked by a mob, beaten, and his body was later set on fire.

“Following the incident, angry villagers reportedly mobbed and lynched the second trader, setting his body ablaze,” Makama said.

Security sources confirmed that the clash occurred at the stated time and escalated rapidly, resulting in the fatal outcome.

To prevent further unrest, troops from the Forward Operating Base in Malumfashi were deployed to the area. Their presence helped restore calm and stabilize the situation, allowing normal activities to gradually resume.

“Troops of Forward Operating Base Malumfashi were later deployed to the scene to restore order and prevent further breakdown of law and order in the community,” the source stated.

Security personnel have since remained in the community to maintain peace and discourage any retaliatory actions.
