The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Bauchi State Command, has deployed 1,100 personnel across Bauchi State to enhance security during the Easter celebrations.
The deployment, which covers all 20 local government areas, was confirmed in a statement by the command’s spokesperson, Saminu Yusuf.
According to him, the State Commandant, Oloyede Nelson, approved the operation as part of efforts to ensure safety during the public holidays declared for Easter.
Yusuf explained that the personnel include both uniformed officers for visible patrols and plainclothes operatives assigned to covert duties. They have been drawn from various units and formations to provide adequate coverage at churches, event venues, and other key locations.
He added that the command will also prioritise the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure throughout the festive period.
The commandant extended Easter greetings to Christian faithful and personnel of the corps, wishing them a peaceful celebration.
He also urged residents to use the season to pray for continued peace, security, and national development, while encouraging them to remain vigilant and law-abiding.
