Bauchi Police Arrest Three Over Mob Killing of Two Men

Bauchi State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the mob killing of two men in Bunga Hamlet, Dagu Ward of Warji Local Government Area in Bauchi State.

According to the police, the incident happened on May 7, 2026, after a distress call alerted authorities to an attack that led to the deaths of Kabiru Idris, 30, and Ibrahim Samaila Danliti, 40, both from Gabanga Village in Warji LGA.

The command’s spokesperson, Nafiu Habib, said the victims were riding on a motorcycle when they were allegedly pursued by a mob from Ningi LGA shouting “thieves, thieves.”

The victims were reportedly intercepted in Bunga Hamlet and beaten unconscious before police operatives rushed them to the General Hospital in Warji, where they were later confirmed dead.

Police said detectives arrested three suspects identified as Samaila Turawa, Danbaba Haruna, and Ubale Mai Kaji over their alleged involvement in the attack.

The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, condemned the incident, describing it as barbaric and warning against jungle justice.
