Lewandowski Matches Stoichkov Record in Barcelona Victory

Robert Lewandowski reached a significant milestone on Saturday, equalling a long-standing record held by former Barcelona forward Hristo Stoichkov.

The striker scored in Barcelona’s 2-1 victory over Atletico Madrid, helping his side secure all three points in their LaLiga clash. Marcus Rashford also found the net in the win.

With that goal, Lewandowski moved to 117 goals for Barcelona, placing him among the club’s top scorers and matching Stoichkov’s tally.

Notably, the Polish forward achieved the feat in just 185 appearances, significantly fewer than the 255 matches it took Stoichkov to reach the same number.

Reacting after the match, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick praised Lewandowski’s performance and contribution to the team.

“We have eight matches to play this season, and I can say that I am really happy with Lewandowski and all of my players,” he said.

Lewandowski’s consistency continues to underline his importance to Barcelona as they push toward the final stretch of the season.
