LaLiga: Barcelona Confirm Lamine Yamal Season Injury

FC Barcelona have confirmed that teenage forward Lamine Yamal will miss the rest of the season after suffering a hamstring injury.

The setback occurred during Barcelona’s 1-0 victory over Celta Vigo, with the youngster sustaining the injury while taking a penalty in the match.

In a statement released on Thursday, the club provided details on the nature of the injury and the recovery plan for the 18-year-old, while also offering reassurance regarding his long-term availability.

“The tests carried out have confirmed that first-team player Lamine Yamal has a hamstring injury in his left leg (biceps femoris muscle).

“The player will follow a conservative treatment plan. Lamine Yamal will miss the remainder of the season, and he is expected to be available for the World Cup.”

The injury rules Yamal out of Barcelona’s remaining six La Liga fixtures as they push to defend their domestic title under manager Hansi Flick. Among the matches he will miss is a highly anticipated clash against Real Madrid at Camp Nou on May 10.

While the absence is a significant blow to Barcelona’s attacking options in the closing stages of the campaign, the club remains optimistic about Yamal’s recovery timeline, with expectations that he will return in time for international duty at the World Cup.
