EPL: Enzo Fernandez Explains Chelsea’s Loss to PSG

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has opened up about why Paris Saint-Germain knocked his side out of the Champions League.

Fernandez could not prevent Chelsea’s exit as PSG secured a dominant 3-0 victory in Tuesday’s Round of 16 second-leg clash at Stamford Bridge.

The London club had already been on the back foot after suffering a 5-2 defeat in the first leg in Paris the previous week.

Speaking with ESPN Argentina after the match, Fernandez pointed out that Paris Saint-Germain outperformed Liam Rosenior’s team from a tactical standpoint.

The Argentine international also admitted that Chelsea lost grip of the game and were punished for key errors against their opponents.

“I think we lost control in the first leg,” Fernandez said.

“In the last fifteen minutes, I think they scored three goals. A difference of three goals is a lot in today’s football.

“We made mistakes, we paid for them, and in football, it is all about details. In the end, PSG took advantage of those opportunities

“Congratulations to PSG because they were much better than us, and I think they beat us tactically.”
