Chelsea FC has recorded a Premier League record pre-tax loss of £262.4 million for the year ending June 30, 2025.
The figure surpasses the previous record of £197.5 million set by Manchester City in the 2010/11 season.
Despite the loss, Chelsea reported revenue of £490.9 million, one of the highest in the club’s history, partly boosted by earnings from their Club World Cup success.
The club attributed the financial setback to rising operating costs, while noting that last year’s profit was largely supported by the sale of its women’s team to a subsidiary company.
Chelsea also recently admitted breaching Premier League financial rules and was fined £10.75 million, although they avoided a points deduction after cooperating with authorities.
