The Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Social Media, Olusegun Dada, has weighed in on the recent resignation of former presidential candidate Peter Obi from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Reacting via a post on X, Dada suggested that Obi’s departure reinforces the stance of both the president and the All Progressives Congress (APC), particularly in the face of accusations that the ruling party is responsible for instability within opposition ranks.
He criticised opposition figures for what he described as attempts to shift blame for their internal disagreements onto the presidency.
“They tried to blame President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for their internal troubles, but God has vindicated him and the APC again.”
Obi, on his part, had previously raised concerns about alleged interference within opposition parties. He claimed that individuals linked to the Nigerian state had infiltrated the Labour Party, contributing to internal divisions and tensions that eventually led to his decision to leave.
He further suggested that similar patterns may now be emerging within the ADC, pointing to what he described as recurring political interference affecting party cohesion.
