Jigawa Assembly Endorses Umar Namadi for 2027

Members of the Jigawa State House of Assembly have expressed strong support for Umar Namadi by unanimously passing a vote of confidence in his administration and endorsing him as their sole candidate for the 2027 governorship election.

The resolution was adopted during a plenary session held on Wednesday, where lawmakers pointed to a range of development projects implemented across the state’s 30 constituencies as evidence of the governor’s performance.

They noted that the endorsement was aimed at ensuring continuity in ongoing programmes and sustaining the pace of development.

Speaking during the session, the Speaker of the House, Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin, commended the administration’s achievements over the past three years, stating that they have brought tangible improvements to the lives of residents across the state.

Other members of the Assembly echoed similar sentiments, describing the governor’s leadership as purposeful and focused on growth, welfare, and long-term development.

The lawmakers highlighted progress in key sectors, including education, healthcare, agriculture, job creation, and youth empowerment, as major reasons behind their endorsement. They also pointed to infrastructure projects such as road construction, rehabilitation of schools, expansion of healthcare services, and support initiatives for farmers as visible indicators of the administration’s impact.

According to them, maintaining the current momentum would not only consolidate existing gains but also open up new economic opportunities, improve living standards, and enhance overall prosperity in Jigawa State.

The Assembly expressed confidence that continued leadership under Governor Namadi would further strengthen development efforts and deliver lasting benefits for the people of the state.
