Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, on Sunday refused to address journalists after attending the All Progressives Congress governorship screening exercise in Abuja.
The screening was held at the Plateau State Governors’ Lodge in Asokoro, where governors seeking the party’s ticket ahead of the 2027 general election appeared before the screening committee.
Fubara arrived earlier at the venue for the exercise alongside other political stakeholders and party officials.
Following the screening, journalists attempted to get the governor’s reaction regarding the process and his appearance before the committee. However, he declined to entertain questions from the media.
Responding briefly before leaving the venue, the governor simply said, “No comment.”
The Rivers governor appeared before the APC Governorship Screening Committee led by the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda.
The screening exercise is part of preparations by the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
