The Southeast chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has unveiled a new mobilisation structure, the South East Mobilization Network (SEMN), aimed at strengthening grassroots support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The launch took place in Enugu, where members of the group’s National Executive Council (NEC) were also introduced.
Speaking at the event, the Director General of SEMN, Bryan Diamond Agu, said the initiative is designed to create strategic pathways for expanding the party’s influence across the Southeast geopolitical zone.
He praised party members and stakeholders for their commitment to the project, singling out the Imo State Chairman, James Okoroma, for his contributions to discussions on political mobilisation and party development.
Agu noted that the NEC, as the highest decision-making body of SEMN, is expected to sustain the level of dedication demonstrated during the unveiling, particularly in mobilising voters across the region.
” The task of mobilizing the Southeast Electorate has already begun and it requires disciplined execution of agreed programmes and strategies.
We must align fully with the directives of the national leadership of the Party to ensure synergy and measurable electoral outcomes.”he said.
He also highlighted the ongoing ADC National e-membership registration drive, describing it as a key effort to strengthen party structures, improve membership coordination, and enhance planning from polling units to the state level.
Agu urged members and coordinators of SEMN to actively encourage citizens to register, especially in preparation for the party’s congresses scheduled for April 7, 2026.
He further emphasised the importance of voter participation, calling on members to promote the acquisition of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) as a critical requirement for meaningful democratic engagement.
” Members were therefore charged to intensify grassroots sensitization and assist eligible citizens in obtaining their PVCs, knowing that political participation without voting capacity undermines democratic engagement.
“Also reaffirming the principle that politics is fundamentally local, SEMN, has directed its State Coordinators to submit timelines and programmes for State-by-State inauguration of its Executive structures, this is to consolidate SEMN presence at LGA,Ward and polling units levels where electoral outcomes are ultimately determined”Agu maintained.
He also acknowledged the efforts of key figures present at the event, including the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Nnamdi Anedo, and the Apex Leader of SEMN, Monica Ebere Ozoude, noting that their contributions were instrumental to the successful launch.
Agu expressed confidence in the ADC’s national leadership, describing the party as a credible alternative capable of winning power in 2027. He urged members to deepen engagement with voters and promote the party’s vision of responsible governance and national renewal.
“This is the time for action. We must roll up our sleeves and go to work. The ADC represents hope for Nigerians, and SEMN must stand at the forefront of this historic movement toward national transformation.”he added.
