ADC South-West Crisis: Leaders Dismiss Disunity Reports

The South-West leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed recent claims of internal division, describing the reports as false and intentionally misleading.

Responding to the allegations in a statement released on Sunday, the party’s Zonal Chairman, Akinbowale Omole, made it clear that the narrative of disunity does not reflect the reality within the party.

He argued that the reports were designed to create confusion and undermine public confidence in the ADC’s structure.

“We have read with utter dismay reports… about an alleged division in the Southwest zone of the ADC,” he said.

“We state categorically that the story is a cruel fabrication designed to create a false impression of disunity and fragmentation within our party.”

Omole stressed that the party remains firmly united, both within the South-West region and at the national level. He pointed to the stability of the party’s leadership as evidence that there is no internal crisis.

Providing further clarification, he explained that the emergence of the current South-West executives followed established procedures within the party.

The process, he noted, received formal approval from the National Caucus during its meeting on March 7, 2026, and was subsequently endorsed by the party’s National Chairman.

According to him, all appointments were carried out in full compliance with the ADC’s constitution, leaving no room for disputes over legitimacy or structure.

He concluded by reaffirming that the South-West chapter remains aligned with the national leadership, maintaining unity and focus as the party continues its activities.
