The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is considering adopting a consensus method to select its presidential candidate for the 2027 elections.
Speaking on One-on-One on Arise TV, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said consensus is preferred due to lower costs, while direct primaries remain an option. He added that indirect primaries are no longer viable under the amended Electoral Act.
Abdullahi also criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), claiming its unity depends heavily on Bola Tinubu. He further argued that the party is uneasy despite its political dominance.
The ADC has recently emerged as a coalition platform, with figures like Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi linked to its 2027 ambitions, though no official candidacies have been declared.
