ADC Confirms Kwankwaso’s Defection to Party

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has confirmed the defection of former Kano State governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso into the party.

In a statement by its spokesman, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party described the move as a sign of growing public demand for leadership that can address Nigeria’s challenges and drive national development.

The ADC noted that Kwankwaso’s political experience, grassroots influence, and ability to unite people would strengthen its mission ahead of future elections. He has also reportedly urged his supporters nationwide to join the party.

The event was attended by key figures, including National Chairman David Mark and National Secretary Rauf Aregbesola, as well as other party leaders.

Prominent political figures such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi were also present, alongside Liyel Imoke and Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.

According to Abdullahi:

“Senator Kwankwaso’s decision speaks to what many Nigerians already feel: that the country needs leadership that understands the challenges people face every day and is ready to take responsibility for fixing them.

“His experience in governance, his strong grassroots connection, and his ability to bring people together make him a valuable part of this collective effort to rebuild Nigeria.

“As part of this move, he has also encouraged members of his political movement and supporters across the country to join the ADC, adding strength to this growing coalition for change.”
