President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his support for a strong opposition, saying it is essential for a healthy democracy.
GoNews repoted that, Tinubu arrived at Eagle Square, the venue of the 8th elective National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking at the APC National Convention in Abuja, he dismissed claims of a one-party agenda.
“Let me reiterate, we do not seek a one-party state. Democracy thrives on vibrant and healthy competition.
“As a statesman and political leader, I believe in a credible opposition that can challenge, question and help refine policies.”
Tinubu also stressed unity within the All Progressives Congress, describing it as the party’s greatest strength, and urged members to remain disciplined and focused.
He added that ongoing reforms and sacrifices are aimed at building a more prosperous Nigeria.
