Afrobeats Can Never Die – 2Face

Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Face, has expressed strong optimism about the future of Afrobeats, dismissing concerns that the genre may lose its global appeal.

Speaking during an interview with Yaw on Wazobia FM, the “African Queen” singer said Afrobeats remains vibrant and continues to evolve.

He pointed to the rising wave of young talents as a key factor sustaining the genre, noting that new artists are driving its growth and global relevance.

2Face said, “Afrobeats can never die. If you listen to some of the young Afrobeats artists now, you will agree with me that the genre is in safe hands.

“Recently, one of the young artists, Fola, remade my song ‘If Love Is A Crime.’ I really loved it. Soft, smooth vocals. It is amazing. The present crops of artists have special flows. I love their styles.”
