Ondo Police Reveal Robbery Attack on Health Centre

The Ondo State Police Command has disclosed details of an early morning robbery attack on a health centre in Oke Ijebu.

Police spokesperson Abayomi Jimoh said three armed suspects, carrying a pump-action rifle and cutlasses, stormed the facility around 2:00 a.m. after scaling the fence.

The attackers reportedly robbed staff on duty of their belongings, including phones and a POS machine, before abducting them.

“The victims were subsequently whisked away towards the Olokuta axis along Ondo Road.

“Preliminary investigation reveals that the suspects ordered them to remove their clothing and subsequently abandoned them in the bush before fleeing the scene. The victims however found a resort from nearby staff of Correctional Service.

“The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, has visited the scene of the incident and has directed a comprehensive and intelligence-driven investigation into the matter.

“Tactical and surveillance teams have been deployed to track down the perpetrators and ensure they are brought to justice”, the statement added.

Police say efforts are ongoing to track down the suspects.
