Plateau Announces New Curfew Hours in Jos

The Plateau State Government has eased the 48-hour curfew earlier imposed on Jos North following the recent deadly attack in Angwan Rukuba.

Authorities said the decision was made after a return to relative calm in the area. Under the new arrangement, residents can now move freely during limited hours each day.

“Effective from Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the curfew will now be observed daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents are permitted to go about their lawful activities within the stipulated hours.”

In a statement issued by Joyce Ramnap, the government urged residents to remain peaceful and vigilant while security agencies continue monitoring the situation.

“The Plateau State Government appreciates the cooperation and resilience of the public during this period and reiterates its commitment to the protection of lives and property across the state,” the statement added.
