IGP Disu Meets NIPSS DG to Strengthen Security Collaboration

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has met with Ayo Omotayo, the Director-General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), to discuss potential areas of collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and the policy institute.

The engagement, which was disclosed in a statement shared on April 17, 2026, via the official platform of the Nigeria Police Force, took place a day earlier at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

According to the statement, the meeting focused on strengthening institutional partnership and exploring opportunities for joint efforts in critical areas. Discussions reportedly covered national security, strategic leadership, capacity building, and policy support—key areas considered essential to improving the effectiveness of law enforcement in the country.

It was also noted that Omotayo highlighted the role of NIPSS as a leading policy institution responsible for research and contributions to national development, emphasizing its importance in shaping governance and strategic planning.

“The Inspector-General reiterated the importance of strategic collaboration in advancing national security objectives,” the statement said.

The Inspector-General further reaffirmed the commitment of the police force to intelligence-led policing and ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing professionalism, efficiency, and service delivery.
