FG Launches Online Academic Verification System

The Federal Government has ended physical verification of academic credentials, moving the entire process online to improve efficiency and transparency.

The update was announced by the Federal Ministry of Education in a statement signed by its Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade.

According to the ministry, the transition is part of a broader digital transformation effort aimed at strengthening service delivery and ensuring data integrity within the education sector.

“With the introduction of the new system, all applications for authentication and evaluation of academic credentials will now be processed strictly online through the Ministry’s official verification portal,” the statement partly read.

Applicants are now required to complete their submissions through the official portal, eliminating the need for physical visits. The ministry noted that the new system is expected to speed up processing and improve the credibility of credential verification.

Candidates must also request their institutions to send transcripts directly via official email channels for proper verification.
