The Zamfara State Police Command has successfully rescued 15 people who were previously kidnapped in Bungudu Local Government Area.
The update was shared on Tuesday via X by security analyst Zagazola Makama, who provided details of the operation.
According to the report, the victims were freed by a police patrol team carrying out a routine exercise around 3:30 pm. During the operation, officers came across the group, who had reportedly been held captive since December 2025.
Following their rescue, the victims were taken to the Nahuche Primary Health Care Centre, where they are currently receiving treatment.
Sadly, the report indicated that not all those abducted made it out alive. Seven victims were said to have died during their time in captivity.
It was further revealed that three individuals are still unaccounted for, while security operatives continue efforts to locate and rescue them.
The police have reiterated their resolve to combat kidnapping and protect lives and property across the state.
