Troops Rescue 12 Kidnap Victims in Plateau–Taraba Forest

Troops operating in forested areas along the Plateau–Taraba axis have rescued 12 kidnap victims during a routine patrol.

The update was shared by security analyst Zagazola Makama on X, noting that the operation took place in the early hours of April 15, 2026.

Soldiers from a Combat Support Infantry Battalion were conducting a fighting patrol across the Dajin Madam and Kumbodoro forests when they encountered the victims.

The individuals had reportedly escaped from their captors and were navigating the forest in search of safety when they ran into the troops.

“The victims said they fled from their abductors and were moving through the forest when they came across the troops,” the post noted.

Following the encounter, the victims were secured and taken in for identification and further procedures.

Security sources say operations are ongoing in the area, with troops intensifying efforts to track down the kidnappers and prevent future incidents.
