Troops of Operation Fansan Yanma have neutralised several suspected terrorists during a combat operation in Zamfara State.
The encounter took place in Shinkafi Local Government Area when soldiers advancing toward Kagara Forest came under attack from armed men. The troops responded swiftly, engaging the attackers in a gun battle.
According to security sources cited by analyst Zagazola Makama, the soldiers overpowered the group with superior firepower, forcing them to retreat.
“The terrorists were forced to abandon their positions and flee after they were overwhelmed during the encounter,” a source said.
Following the operation, troops recovered five motorcycles left behind by the fleeing suspects, while another was destroyed at the scene.
