Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested several individuals suspected of supplying fuel to Boko Haram insurgents in Yusufari Local Government Area of Yobe State.
The development was revealed in a post on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama, who cited security sources familiar with the operation.
According to the report, the operation took place late on March 24, 2026, when troops of the 241 Battalion, stationed at a Forward Operating Base in Jajimaji, were conducting a night patrol.
During the patrol, soldiers spotted two vehicles loaded with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at a filling station in the Yusuf Abah area of Yusufari.
“On sighting the troops, the vehicles attempted to flee the scene, prompting a pursuit by the soldiers. One Golf vehicle was successfully intercepted, while the second vehicle escaped,” a source said.
A search of the intercepted vehicle led to the discovery of seven sacks of PMS, each containing about 77 litres.
The driver, Mohammed Idi, 25, and his assistant, Mero Umra, 21, were arrested at the scene. Also taken into custody were the filling station manager, Hasan Liman, 50, and a security guard, Jibril Audu, 28.
In addition to the fuel, troops recovered N1.6 million in cash, which is suspected to be either payment for the fuel or funds intended to sustain the supply network.
The suspects, along with the recovered items, are currently in custody as investigations continue.
