Nigerian singer Liya has revealed that her decision to leave Davido Music Worldwide was driven by her need for personal and professional growth.
The former signee of Davido said her time at the label was emotionally difficult, as she battled depression, exhaustion, and health challenges.
“Why did I leave? I just wanted more for myself, as a person and as an artist. It was sad, it was depressing, I was tired, I was sick,” she said.
Liya also addressed criticism from the public, saying she was wrongly labeled as lazy during that period.
“They called me names… people saying she’s lazy… and she’s not doing anything,” she added.
Despite the challenges, she expressed gratitude to her manager for his support.
