Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has announced plans for a major music event in the UK, unveiling his first-ever curated festival in London.
The singer revealed that the event, titled Davido & Friends Festival, will take place on August 14, 2026, at the iconic Crystal Palace Bowl, marking his only outdoor performance in the city this summer.
Sharing the news on social media, the Grammy-nominated artiste wrote, “For the first time ever I present to you… Davido & Friends Festival. It’s going down at Crystal Palace Bowl on August 14th. Sign up for first access.”
He also provided ticket details, saying, “Pre-sale 26 March 10am GMT Gen-sale 27 March 10am GMT.”
Unlike a standard concert, the festival will see Davido not just performing but also curating the entire lineup. The “& Friends” concept has already sparked excitement among fans, with many speculating about potential guest appearances, although no names have been confirmed yet.
The event is part of the wider “Palace Bowl Presents” series, a lineup of shows scheduled between July 31 and August 16 at the historic venue.
Other global acts, including Tasha Cobbs Leonard and Kirk Franklin, are set to headline earlier dates in the series.
The choice of venue adds weight to the announcement. Established in 1961, the Crystal Palace Bowl is one of London’s most prominent open-air arenas, with a capacity of about 15,000 and a long history of hosting major international performers. Davido’s appearance places him among a select group of global stars to headline the stage.
The announcement comes at a time when the Nigerian superstar is enjoying strong momentum. His fifth studio album, 5ive, released in 2025, has received widespread acclaim, with several tracks gaining global attention and further cementing his influence in the Afrobeats scene.
