Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face or 2Baba, has stirred reactions after claiming that Nigeria has improved over the years.
Speaking in an interview with Wazobia TV, the singer said he believes the country is better off now than it was in the past.
“We are better off than many years ago. Just look at it. It’s still ongoing, but I will continue doing it. I will set up my own position and try to make a difference. I’ll try to make it work because I know where I stand. I have personally appointed myself as an ambassador of Nigeria an ambassador everywhere, I am a self-appointed ambassador of Nigeria to everywhere,” he stated.
He also described himself as a self-appointed ambassador of Nigeria, saying he is committed to projecting a positive image of the country wherever he goes.
However, the statement has drawn criticism from some Nigerians, who argue that the country still faces serious challenges, including insecurity and economic hardship.
GoNews reported earlier that, 2Face also expressed strong optimism about the future of Afrobeats, dismissing concerns that the genre may lose its global appeal.
