UCL: Thierry Henry Warns Arsenal Ahead of Atletico Clash

Thierry Henry has issued a note of caution to Arsenal FC ahead of their Champions League semi-final showdown against Atlético Madrid, warning that the upcoming encounter will be far more demanding than their previous meeting.

Earlier in the competition, Arsenal delivered a dominant performance against Diego Simeone’s side, recording a 4-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium. While the result highlighted the Gunners’ attacking strength, Henry believes it offers little guarantee of a similar outcome this time around.

The first leg of the semi-final will be played at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, where Atlético Madrid are traditionally difficult to break down and often thrive on the support of their home crowd.

Reflecting on the earlier encounter and what lies ahead, Henry pointed out that past results can sometimes be misleading, especially in high-stakes knockout fixtures.

“Atletico lost at The Emirates, I think it was 4-0 in the league phase, which doesn’t tell you a lot, but it tells you it’s a game where we created, actually,” Henry told CBS Sports.

“But it will be different (on Wednesday at Riyadh Air Metropolitano).”
