Former Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti recently shared that he jokingly told midfielder Federico Valverde it was a pity he didn’t possess a Brazilian passport.
Ancelotti, who now leads the Brazil national team, reached out to the Uruguayan star following his impressive hat-trick against Manchester City in the Champions League last week.
“I have sent a message to Fede Valverde… I told him: it is a shame you don’t have a Brazilian passport.
“I made a bet with Fede years ago that he’d score 10 goals in a season — or I’d revoke my coaching license,” Ancelotti told Marca.
Ancelotti previously managed Valverde during his successful tenure with the Los Blancos.
Valverde is now focused on helping Real Madrid secure a win as they prepare for the second leg of their Champions League Round of 16 clash with Man City.
