Salah Better Than Ronaldo in Premier League – Carragher

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has stated that Mohamed Salah’s impact in the Premier League surpasses that of Cristiano Ronaldo, following news that the Egyptian forward will leave the club at the end of the season.

In his column for The Telegraph, Carragher reflected on Salah’s legacy, placing him among the greatest overseas attackers to ever play in England. He argued that only Arsenal icon Thierry Henry ranks above the Liverpool winger in that category.

“In the pantheon of overseas attacking players to have excelled in England, only Thierry Henry eclipses Salah,” Carragher wrote.

He also rejected comparisons between Salah and other notable Premier League stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Eden Hazard, Gianfranco Zola, Dennis Bergkamp, and Eric Cantona, insisting that none of them matched Salah’s consistency over time.

“Ronaldo’s time at Manchester United, both initially and upon his return, was either side of his absolute, Real Madrid-peak years,” Carragher noted. “Salah edges ahead of him when judging strictly on Premier League performance and impact.”

Since joining Liverpool from Roma in 2017 for £34 million, Salah has delivered outstanding numbers, recording 189 goals and 92 assists more than any other player in the league during that period.

GoNews had reported earlier that Mohamed Salah has confirmed that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the 2025–26 season.
