Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has outlined a clear and uncompromising path for his team in the ongoing title race, insisting that only a flawless finish will secure the Premier League trophy ahead of Arsenal.
City edged Burnley 1-0 on Wednesday night, a result that lifted them back to the summit of the league table for the first time since August.
The win marks a significant moment in the title race, with both City and Arsenal now locked on 70 points.
While the points are identical, goal-scoring output has given City a slight advantage. Guardiola’s side have netted 66 goals so far this season, narrowly ahead of Arsenal’s 63, allowing them to reclaim top spot.
Despite the positive momentum, Guardiola struck a cautious tone when addressing the media after the match. He made it clear that there is little margin for error in the final stretch of the season.
“Now we have the FA Cup, and after that we have five games.
“The only chance for the title is to win all the games,” he added.
Guardiola, who last led Manchester City to the league title in 2023, is no stranger to high-pressure run-ins.
However, this season presents a fresh challenge, with Arsenal maintaining strong form and refusing to drop off in the closing stages.
