Guardiola to Miss Two Games After Yellow Card

Manchester City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, is set to miss the next two games on the touchline after receiving a yellow card during Saturday’s FA Cup clash with Newcastle United.

This booking marks the sixth time Guardiola has been penalized with a yellow card during the current season.

The disciplinary action followed a heated exchange between the Spanish coach and fourth official Lewis Smith, triggered by a foul from Kieran Trippier on City’s Jeremy Doku.

Guardiola was also seen reacting with what appeared to be sarcastic applause following Omar Marmoush’s goal, which brought the score to 3-1 at St James’ Park.

As a result of the suspension, he will be missing from the dugout for City’s upcoming Premier League trip to West Ham next Saturday, as well as their FA Cup quarter-final match in April.

Nevertheless, these domestic restrictions do not extend to European competitions or major finals, meaning Guardiola will still be permitted to lead his team from the sidelines against Real Madrid and in the Carabao Cup final against Arsenal on March 22.
