Pep Guardiola has reiterated that no player will be forced to remain at Manchester City if they feel unsettled, addressing recent comments made by Rodri about a possible future move.
The midfielder had hinted during the March international break that playing for Real Madrid could be an option later in his career, sparking speculation about his long-term future at the Etihad Stadium.
Responding to the situation, Guardiola emphasized the club’s stance on player satisfaction, noting that anyone who no longer feels content is free to seek a move elsewhere. However, he also expressed hope that Rodri remains happy and committed to the team.
He said: “If one player is not happy, they have to leave, continue the same.
“Always I think is he’s happy and hopefully he can be happy.
“But if he’s not happy, just knock on the door of the sporting director, accept an offer, according to his incredible, incredible quality, and after that it all belongs to the club and himself.”
