The head coach of Nigeria’s women’s national basketball team, D’Tigress, Rena Wakama, has released a 21-player roster ahead of the team’s training camp and planned WNBA tour in the United States.
The training camp is scheduled to commence on Saturday, marking the start of preparations for upcoming international engagements.
Among the standout names included in the squad are experienced players such as Ezinne Kalu, Promise Amukamara, and Victoria Macaulay, all of whom are expected to play key roles during the tour.
During their stay in the United States, D’Tigress will take on three teams from the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). Their schedule includes a matchup against the Los Angeles Sparks on April 25, followed by a game against the Minnesota Lynx on April 27, before rounding off the tour against the Indiana Fever on May 2.
The tour forms a crucial part of the team’s build-up to the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, where they will be aiming to compete strongly on the global stage.
The tournament is scheduled to take place in Berlin, from September 4 to September 13, bringing together top women’s basketball teams from around the world.
