Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, will find out their group-stage opponents for the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup next Tuesday.
The draw is set to take place in Berlin, where 16 qualified teams will be placed into four groups based on the latest FIBA rankings.
D’Tigress have been drawn into Pot 2 alongside strong contenders such as China, Belgium, and Spain.
As part of preparations, head coach Rena Wakama has led the team on a training tour in the United States, which began on Thursday.
During the tour, the African champions will play friendly matches against WNBA sides including Los Angeles Sparks, Minnesota Lynx, and Indiana Fever.
The tournament is scheduled to run from September 4 to 13.
