Alan Shearer, legendary striker of Newcastle United, has shared his predictions for several FA Cup fifth-round fixtures scheduled for this weekend.
Shearer believes Newcastle United will defeat Manchester City in their clash on Saturday night at St James’ Park.
The former England international also tipped Chelsea and Arsenal to secure victories in their respective matches against Wrexham and Mansfield Town.
Providing his predictions to Metro (UK newspaper), Shearer said:
“I guess Mikel Arteta will make changes, but I even think with the changes that come in, they’ll still have the quality. I don’t see a shock at Mansfield, no, I think Arsenal will go through with ease. Prediction – Arsenal.”
Speaking about the Wrexham versus Chelsea encounter, he added:
“It’ll be absolutely rocking on Saturday at the Racecourse Ground. I think whatever team he puts out, I think they’ll still have enough to beat Wrexham. Prediction – Chelsea.”
On the highly anticipated Newcastle versus Manchester City fixture, Shearer said:
“It’ll be tight, it always is, but I think Newcastle might have enough to get through. Prediction – Newcastle.”
