Taraba Govt Denies Political Aspirants Automatic Tickets

The Taraba State Government has pushed back against circulating claims that Governor Agbu Kefas has already handed out automatic tickets to selected political hopefuls ahead of the next general elections.

In an official statement released in Jalingo, the government described the reports as “false, baseless, and misleading,” making it clear that no such promises have been made.

According to Josiah Sabo Kente, the governor’s Special Adviser on Political Matters and Special Duties, the administration remains committed to fairness and internal democracy, ensuring that all aspirants have equal chances in the process.

The statement emphasized, “At no time has His Excellency made any promise of automatic tickets to any individual or group.”

It also reflected the stance of the All Progressives Congress in the state, with Chairman Abubakar Bawa restating that such a provision does not exist within the party framework.

Officials warned that the rumours have already stirred unnecessary anxiety among party members and aspirants, urging the public to ignore unverified claims and maintain unity.

The government concluded by reaffirming that Governor Kefas remains focused on governance while supporting a transparent and lawful political process.
