Kabir Makko, the Gombe State Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has stepped down from his position.
In a resignation letter addressed to the NNPP Chairman of Akko Ward and obtained by reporters, Makko confirmed that he has also withdrawn his membership from the party alongside his leadership role.
He stated that his resignation from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Gombe State chapter, takes effect from March 23, 2026.
Makko further clarified that his decision covers both his membership and his position as the state chairman of the party.
He said, “By this resignation, I also relinquish my position as the Gombe State Party Chairman. This decision has been made after careful political consideration.”
He expressed gratitude to party members and stakeholders for the support and cooperation he received during his time as chairman.
Copies of the resignation letter were also forwarded to the NNPP National Chairman.
