Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar says a growing opposition alliance under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) could significantly strengthen his prospects ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking during an interview on Arise TV, Atiku explained that the coalition brings together influential figures from major political parties across the country.
He argued that the alliance represents a shift from his previous bids, describing it as more coordinated and inclusive.
“Now, we have a broader coalition a combination of APC, PDP, and LP which gives me a better chance of becoming president in 2027,” he said.
Atiku also highlighted what he sees as a generational balance within the coalition, noting that it includes both seasoned politicians and younger actors.
“You see people of my generation, you see people below my own generation down the line, so you can see clearly a succession pattern,” Atiku noted.
He added that the emerging alliance signals a broader political realignment as stakeholders position themselves ahead of the next general election cycle.
