Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has voiced confidence in the ability of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to evolve into a strong opposition capable of challenging Nigeria’s ruling party.
Atiku made this known in a message shared on his X account on Thursday night, where he reflected on a recent high-level meeting involving prominent figures within the party.
“I joined other leaders of our party in a crucial meeting to decide the next phase of our progress,” he stated.
According to him, the meeting underscores a growing sense of unity and shared purpose among members, which he described as essential for the party’s advancement.
He noted that the ADC is currently focused on consolidating its internal structure while preparing strategically for the political challenges ahead. The party, he said, is working toward building a credible and competitive platform that can effectively contest power.
Beyond electoral ambitions, Atiku emphasized that the ADC’s broader goal is to rebuild public trust and reposition the country on a path of sustainable development and national purpose.
He added that achieving these objectives will depend largely on the level of unity, discipline, and commitment demonstrated by party members.
