The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of unfairly targeting the party despite its dominant political control.
Speaking during an interview on Politics Today, the ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the party remains composed and focused amid what he described as pressure from the APC.
“We, in the ADC are calm because we know what we are doing, but they, the APC, are the ones; after having about 34 governors in their camp and almost all the National Assembly, they are still panicking. They are still sponsoring court cases against the ADC,” he said.
Abdullahi alleged that the ruling party frequently brings up the ADC in political conversations, often in a bid to weaken its position.
“They can’t have a conversation without talking about the ADC. They say ADC is comatose, it is this or that, instigating our members against us. Those who can barely afford to feed are now hiring Senior Advocates of Nigeria, and we say it just doesn’t add up,” he added.
He also assured party members and supporters that there is no risk in contesting elections under the ADC platform.
“It’s not legally and politically dangerous for anyone to run on the platform of the ADC,” Abdullahi stated.
