UTME 2026: Jigawa Police Deploy Personnel to Secure Centres

The Jigawa State Police Command has deployed security personnel to examination centres across the state to ensure a smooth conduct of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Police spokesperson Shiisu Lawan Adam said the move followed directives from Commissioner of Police Haruna A. Yahaya.

The deployment, which aligns with the directive of Inspector General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu, includes uniformed officers, plainclothes operatives, and intelligence teams.

Authorities said the personnel are tasked with maintaining order, preventing security breaches, and responding swiftly to any incident during the examination.

Enhanced patrols, surveillance, and access control measures have also been introduced around centres to deter criminal activity.

The command urged candidates and parents to cooperate with security agencies and report suspicious movements, while assuring residents of its commitment to safety throughout the examination period.
