Security forces have successfully thwarted an attempted bandit raid on Yankaba village, located in the Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The details of the encounter were shared in a post on X this Sunday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.
According to the account, the incident took place on March 7 around 6:00 p.m., when armed suspects entered the community and began firing into the air, causing widespread alarm among the local population.
Security officials reported that personnel from Operation Fansan Yanma, in coordination with police tactical units, were rapidly dispatched to the scene and engaged the intruders in a firefight.
“The bandits were forced to retreat after they encountered stronger firepower from the security forces.
“Following the confrontation, the attackers reportedly abandoned their mission and fled the community.
“Security personnel have since increased patrols and surveillance in the area to prevent further attacks and ensure the safety of residents,” Makama wrote.
Makama further noted that surveillance and other security measures remain active within the community to maintain order.
