The Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, Bassey Ewah, has held a strategic meeting with hotel operators as part of efforts to strengthen security and enhance public safety in the state.
During the engagement, Ewah emphasised the need for a strong partnership between law enforcement agencies and stakeholders in the hospitality industry, noting that such collaboration is vital in preventing crime.
“The Command is committed to partnering with hotel operators to ensure all hospitality facilities are adequately secured,” Ewah said.
In response, the hoteliers commended the initiative, describing it as timely and necessary. They expressed their readiness to collaborate with the police and other security agencies to improve safety within their establishments.
The operators also highlighted some of the challenges facing the sector and reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with authorities to address potential threats.
Ewah urged them to remain vigilant at all times and to promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station, stressing that timely information is key to effective policing.
The meeting was aimed at strengthening cooperation, improving information sharing, and building a proactive approach to tackling security challenges across the state.
