NSCDC Deploys 2,375 Personnel for Eid-el-Fitr Security in Niger

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger State Command, has deployed 2,375 personnel across the state to maintain security during the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

The deployment was approved by the State Commandant, Suberu Siyaka Aniviye, and will cover the command headquarters, area commands, as well as divisional offices.

In a statement issued through the Public Relations Officer, Abubakar M.R. Muti, the command said the personnel would be positioned at key locations to ensure order and provide security before, during, and after the festivities.

The corps noted that Eid-el-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, often comes with increased public activities, making enhanced security measures necessary.

Aniviye stated that adequate strategies have been put in place to guarantee a peaceful and incident-free Sallah celebration, emphasizing the corps’ responsibility to safeguard lives and critical national infrastructure.

The deployment, which began on March 18, 2026, will see officers engage in patrol duties and crowd control operations across the state.

The commandant also praised the Commandant General of the corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, for improving the operational strength of the agency.

He further appreciated the support of Umaru Mohammed Bago in advancing security and development within the state.

The statement urged residents to remain law-abiding and to cooperate with security agencies by reporting any suspicious activities to the nearest NSCDC office.
